Eye Spy.... a small object

I won't be around tomorrow, so am doing this today! (this seems to be the day to blog!)

Can you see him?

Let me bring him down to our level and get a close up:

He's a jade frog that has been in our household for a long time. He hangs out with some other friends in our kitchen on the window sill and time to time, little hands like to have a hold of him... I find him in all sorts of places and if he could talk (maybe he does, but I'm not listening??) he would have some stories to tell me!

Thanks to the crafty librarian for this weeks eye spy.

Eye Spy.... the letter J

Jewelery branch!

Mr bpab crafted this amazing piece of art work as a present one Christmas/birthday/? (it took awhile to happen and extended over a few gift giving occasions). It's made from 2 old gum tree branches that we found on the creek walking track nearby. He used thick natural string to bind it together and fly screen netting for the earring area.
It's hangs beautifully in our bedroom and holds all my jewelery where I can see it and choose with ease what I may adorn. (It's all costume.... nothing worth stealing!)

Thanks to Lauren for the eye spy theme. (It was last Sunday's one but I never got to do it until now!!)

Yay! A review! A review!!

Well it's a product review..... but it's a start isn't it??
The lovely Amanda from Style Collective has reviewed some Poppies For Grace invitations and treat bags. Overall, a good write up and I'm very grateful to Amanda for her honest words.
They are a great party theme alternative to the licensed crapparama that seems to bombard our children's universe...... who can't get excited about safari animals??

I'm just hoping I get an invite in the mail from Amanda.....
Check out the review here and then after reading that, you can check out the rest of the Poppies For Grace treasure. Go on, treat yourself!

Enjoy your weekend!

My brain is melting...

I'm trying hard to do some work today, as I have received new wooden play toys (they are divine!!) and want to enter them into the shop asap. But I had to stop to write this post!

If you are in Melbourne (or Victoria for that matter) you'll now how I'm feeling. It's hot.
I love melbs. weather, we get the full range and it's usually fine to experience extreme conditions because you know it will only last for a few days before the change comes and you turn to the other season's clothing.

So this has been a very tiring week for people who are not used to 'Egyptian' weather (as Mr bpab keeps referring to Egypt being one of the hottest places on earth. )

Anyway, I was working away at my computer and was trying really hard to read what was on the invoice, when it struck me that I was in the dark! I'm in my lounge room, all the curtains are fully drawn, blinds outside are down and there is the light of my computer screen.
When it's night time, we turn the light on - as if it's a ritual, you just do it. But when it's stinking hot, you'd rather be in the dark! Funny har? (Probably not really.... my brain is just melting....)

We made a fantastic discovery..... fill a spray bottle up with (precious) water and spray yourself through out the day! I'm talking bottles hairdressers use or the ones you use to spray your plant leaves.... and the setting has to be MIST - not stream or spray (unless you want to hurt yourself). We all have one each (well, I have to fight the girls to get a go of one! Actually I think I'll train them up to come over and spray me every 10 minutes.....brilliant!). This is the most fun with water the kids are going to have. No sprinklers, water slides on garbage bags with dripper hoses, water bombs.... they were some good water abusing times!

Well, this was supposed to just take me 5 minutes to do, but we had an ice cream break, one child with a crying tantrum to sort out (while Jimmy Hendrix was playing.... yes he's here in our lounge room...), a couple of crappy nappies to change (that's the worst hot weather job to do!!) and opening up of curtains for a bit of light relief before the night comes.

Lots of power going off around the place. If you have stuff on 'stand by' mode and are not using it..... turn it off at the wall and save a bit of that power.
This is Ranger Mon signing off!
Have yourself a balmy night. We'll be swimming tonight (at a pool we can sneak in to use!) and then probably eating ice cream at Pancake Parlour (you know they're open 24). Yep! Big Friday night plans!!

Clothing: on a body or on the floor? You decide here and now!

Okay, so I've decided to do a bit of an experiment!
I'm doing it with the Monstar Kids clothing range as Fiona had given me some images of her photo shoot for Summer 08/09.
I basically want to know what you prefer when browsing for clothing on the web!
Do you like seeing the garment worn on a body or just laid flat out on it's own with no distractions?
Here is an example of the same item below:

Flat out on it's own:

OR

Being worn:

For more examples look at Monstar Kids category at the bpab shop.
Please let me know what your preference is.... leave a comment here or email me if you're a bit shy! Just for an added bonus I'll be giving away a Monstar Kids tee (of your choice) to one lucky commenter!
* the tee winner will be decided on 1st of Feb 2009. We've extended the comp. for another couple of weeks...so lets say Friday the 13th I'll draw the Winner. This is final!!

Wow! I didn't expect this post to turn out like this!! Never know what I might write when I'm on a role........

***THIS COMP IS FINISHED. Thanks for your comments.

Skout me out

I've joined Skout Trade Fair.
It is a website that brings anyone who does kids business of any sort.... designer, shops, promoters, makers, crafters..... together in the one spot so we can network, promote and be-friend!
So far it has been easy to navigate and I've even found some friends! Yay!!

As I get more entangled in the web of cyber space, I feel I need to get more organised..... or maybe I just need to clone myself. Well better get to work then.

Skout is free to join. (but you must join up to view any content.)
Will I see you there?

We also have a Clearance Sale going on under the SALE category.
We need to find new homes for all these great items..... so we can adopt some more stuff!

Happy New Year!

I know we are a few days into 2009 already.... I'm in slacker mode (and I like it!).
Welcome to the new and fresh and the excitement of what will come this year!!
May 2009 be all you want it to be and in turn, may you achieve what ever you set out to do and have lots of fun doing it too!

I reckon on Monday I will get back into 'serious' work mode (as in entering new stock and sorting out sale stuff etc..... I'll still be slacking off, but you won't be able to tell.

Enjoy what ever you're doing......... we're about to make banana pancakes for dinner!
