Recycling unwanted CD cases - TRD style

As Mr bpab is a musician, we've got millions upon gazillion CDs.... but not enough room to house them all in their cases. So ages ago we decided to slim line our collection and get rid of all the big plastic cases and keep the cds with their paper paraphanalia together in double sided slips. All nice and cosey now!!
But we then had all these CD cases to deal with......
Mr bpab came up with a brilliant idea and has made an ad for one of his tunes.
Enjoy and pass it on!

Check out more of The Ribbon Device and download their music... so you can save on plastic.

Sigg bottle design competition

Sigg are calling for entries into their Bottle Design Competition 2009!
Gain world wide exposure and get your design on one of the most environmentally conscious products on the planet - the SIGG water bottle.
Using a SIGG reusable bottle is a smart and simple way to reduce unnecessary waste and to take better care of our planet. So it's not surprising the theme for this years design competition is CELEBRATE NATURE.
The top 3 designs will be launched in the official SIGG collection and share $4,000(USD) in prize money.

Go here to find out how to get your winning design on a SIGG bottle!

I think I'll even have a crack of this!! Good luck.
(bpab is proud to stock SIGG bottles... and we use them everyday too.)

Earth hour tonight! How will you be spending it?

Yep, it's snuck up on me and now it is here!
Turning off lights is not hard to do. I mean if you live in an environmentally aware household, you'd be used to turning off lights when you leave a room. So this will be no big deal. If you are a bit scared perhaps invest in some night vision goggles! Wouldn't that be fun!
Actually I think most people are heading out into the night or lighting candles around the place and pretending to engage in romantic conversations.....

Having said that - I've no idea what we will be doing this year.
Got any ideas?
Would love to hear what you are up to tonight when you turn off the lights at 8.30pm for 1 hour. (Unless you're planning something naughty or illegal! hahaha)

Have a fun Sat. night now!

P.S. Make your effort count by clicking the Earth Hour pic on the left here and registering your participation. We have!!

Welcome to new brand: A Sparkle In Time

How cool is this cubby??
The Star Pad is an Australian made cardboard house. It has cut out stars on the roof, two doors with letter box slits, two windows and a floor. It comes in plain old white on the outside and brown cardboard colour on the inside.
You get to decorate it any way you want!!
I have graced the girls with one to share and it is serving La's scribbling passion rather well.... I've told them they can draw all over it (because it's made from paper). I'm sure we will get down to some serious decorating when the excitement dies down.
Anyway, it's easy to put together and totally recyclable! (A good reading nook too.... just add a blanket, pillow and some books.)

Welcome to new brand: Lisa Jones Cards

These cool cards are from the UK, printed on recycled paper using vegetable inks!
So now you can feel extra good when you send your next message or birthday greeting (and spread the green love!).

Kapok elephant
Bright colours and retro fabric patterns, there are 6 characters in this range.

Patterned Pals owl
Black and white folk-like patterns, there are 6 characters in this range.

I like the idea of collecting a few and framing them to hang on the wall as art!
You can even colour parts of the patterned Pals cards to suit your decor..... be imaginative.

What I'd LOVE to get in the (snail) mail!

New Poppies For Grace paper loveliness has landed at bpab!

I would be ecstatic if I received a hand written letter........ and would treasure it more so if the writer used any of the papers from these sets!
The red one is called 'Two Willows' and the green one is called 'One Willow'.
Both packs have 3 different types of papers, printed and plain brown craft envelopes,
envelope stickers and labels.

And imagine how giggly I'd be if I got one of these party invitations in my letterbox!
I'd stick it on my fridge with the magnet that came with it!
And then at the party, when it's time to go home.... I'd get a bag of treats too! Hooray!

(top) Isobel party invites and brown paper treat bag
(bottom) Charlie brown paper treat bag and party invitations.

All my favourite and most treasured books would have these wonderfully playful book plates stuck in the front cover, so everyone would know who cares for them. I'd write who gave the book to me too!

Playground book plates set.
They come in a red envelope and include 2 of each of these designs.
(good to colour in too!)

All Poppies For Grace products are locally made and use recycled paper.

Sip in style

Got some great looking Sigg water bottles today.
Very tempting to trade in my (not so) old bottle for a new one!
They won't taint your water, leak or get lost in the blah of boring water bottles.
Give up those yucky plastic bottles that off gas and don't last the distance...... we've got one for every age!

Washing day!

Did some washing today!!
Nah, the nice weather inspired me to take some new product shots outside... clothes line style.

New Cinti Does Vintage cot quilts...... strong colours and boyish too!
I actually picked these up after attending Cintia's 'Biggest Morning Tea' a couple of weeks ago at her shop My Poppit. Yeah, she's Cinti Does Vintage!
The quilts are not up on the shop site yet, but should be today or tomorrow....

New Lotus Linens Winter wear finally in!
Pretty exciting stuff, the theme being bubbles.... we love bubbles!
In case you didn't know: Lotus's stuff is 70% Bamboo and 30% Cotton.
(making it all very environmentally friendly and it feels soft and silky)
Pictured here are pj pants.... they come with matching tops. (How snuggly are they??)
Sizes from 2 to 8.

**Also natural leggings and baby body suits (bubble style).
