Family spends time together! (thanks to gastro)

Yep!
Happy to say we have all recovered from what was a lovely weekend of 'quality family time'.
It all started last Friday in the wee hours of the morn. (too early for good people to be awake!) Little L threw up in our bed, on me...... She was a sad soul for the day and by the evening when it was time to go to bed, she was able to have a solid sleep, thus feeling fine on Saturday morning.
Excellent!
Round two came on Saturday night when Mr bpab started complaining about a funny tummy..... at the time I was kind of feeling a bit odd, but didn't want to admit anything was really wrong (it was the middle of the night and I just wanted to go back to sleep.) But it got me thinking that maybe we ate something not quite right for dinner. By then both of us were awake talking about what it could be and slowly I began to feel queasy. Mr bpab had been visiting the to let room for a while now and moved out into the lounge to rest there.
I finally thought I'd get up and as soon as I did, I knew I needed to throw up. THANK YOU for the luxury of a hot shower! I didn't get to brush my teeth (to complete my 'back to normality' sense of feeling) as little L was crying and needed her mummy. Oh, that's right..... got to look after kids still!
By morning, we'd established it was not food poisoning, as now Little C had joined in the fun! (She is refusing to eat what we do...) Instead of vomiting in bed, she asked to have a shower and did it in the bathroom. So basically most rooms are smelling and looking lovely!

So Sunday was spent lying around groaning, complaining, crying, visiting the small room, showering off vomit (we did run out of hot water by the evening, which we've never done before!), changing sheets and clothing, looking after other sickies (that was the crap stuff) as well as (this is the good stuff:) watching lots of movies, napping, lying in bed or on the couch, giving cuddles AND all as a family (as we always try to spend our Sundays!)
Of course little L did all the normal stuff that toddlers do because she was well. But it was probably the first time she observed her parents laying around doing nothing all day!

Monday rolled around and we were feeling much better!
By the end of the day, we had drifted apart for small periods to do our own things....... the time spent as a family was precious, but not destined to last. Well not till next Sunday (and there will be no gastro, cos face it, we don't need it's help to come together again!).

Time to do more washing..............

What I'd LOVE to get in the (snail) mail!

New Poppies For Grace paper loveliness has landed at bpab!

I would be ecstatic if I received a hand written letter........ and would treasure it more so if the writer used any of the papers from these sets!
The red one is called 'Two Willows' and the green one is called 'One Willow'.
Both packs have 3 different types of papers, printed and plain brown craft envelopes,
envelope stickers and labels.

And imagine how giggly I'd be if I got one of these party invitations in my letterbox!
I'd stick it on my fridge with the magnet that came with it!
And then at the party, when it's time to go home.... I'd get a bag of treats too! Hooray!

(top) Isobel party invites and brown paper treat bag
(bottom) Charlie brown paper treat bag and party invitations.

All my favourite and most treasured books would have these wonderfully playful book plates stuck in the front cover, so everyone would know who cares for them. I'd write who gave the book to me too!

Playground book plates set.
They come in a red envelope and include 2 of each of these designs.
(good to colour in too!)

All Poppies For Grace products are locally made and use recycled paper.

This is.... what I want to be when I grow up

I found a booklet in my baby photos that I did when I was 5 (in prep).
This page reminds me how I lost my dream, somewhere along the way, of what I wanted to be when I grow up!

But seeings I haven't grown up yet, I think I'll try getting back on track and implement a plan of attack!
(Yes, I did eventually buy a pram!)

Thanks to bugandpop for this weeks theme.

Welcome to new brand: Nature's Child

Nature's Child are based in Byron Bay, NSW. They specialise in Certified Organic products - which I love and the main reason I've chosen to bring a selection of their products on board.
I've been trying to expand the mummy side of things and these Breast Pads are sooo nice to wear! (Yes, I've tried them out already..... washables will save you money!) They come in 2 sizes - REGULAR / DAY TIME and LARGE/ NIGHT TIME. There are 3 pairs per pack and they retail from $19.95 per pack.

The luxury organic cotton hooded towel is 90x90cm........ big enough for after bath snuggling for babies as well as a great cape for running around naked for toddlers! Natural colour and no added decorations makes it unisex. Plus it will fit nicely into your bathroom decor AND will last for many years (bypassing those kiddie fads!). $69.95
This luxury organic muslin wrap has been awarded the GOLD MEDAL at the 2007 Organic Expo! It's beautifully soft and the natural look and weave pattern adds to this wraps appeal. 120x120cm, large enough to swaddle baby or use in the pram to shade from sun and will still keep baby cool in the heat. $24.95

I hope you enjoy these natural products and see them as investments that will last from child to child, knowing they are pure and will bring no harm to them or yourself.

This is.... my absolute favourite band(s) of all time!

Better late than never....

I've picked 3 bands that left a dent from my teenage years (eeekkkk!)
(in no particular order...)

#1: The Angels

This obsession with Doc Neeson and The Angels started when the boy I had a crush on back then introduced me to lots of Aussie Rock bands! Lots of playing and singing followed, many taped cassettes were exchanged.... nothing else I'm afraid....

#2: Def Leppard

Actually bought a few of their cassettes (easier to lug around everywhere than vinyl!) Although I think we had this particular album on vinyl. Yes, my parents were fans too! In fact the three of us saw Def Leppard in 'the round' when they played Melbourne..... (I was embarrassed and proud at the same time of this experience - so was both teased and secretly awed at school!)
A t-shirt souvenir was called for!

#3: Transvision Vamp

One I am not cringing about and would like to track down some of their tunes now I've thought about them! Fond memories were shared with my best friend (at the time).... we loved Wendy James and all she stood for, we had nick names taken from one of their songs (I was Marty, she was Lenny), writing letters and graffiti from lyrics and band name everywhere. The Vamp was a love affair and helped us express ourselves at a time in our lives when we needed direction, but didn't want to be told.....

Thanks to Ms Curlypops for last weeks This Is.
Check out all about This Is and how you can play too.

Soon I will do the bands I love now!!!!
